In researching for myself and you, I am always on the lookout for good, quality sites that are relavant in some way to our health.  One of these sites that I have just added to our resource page is the Skin Deep: Cosmetic Safety Database.

This database is extremely valuable to anyone out there who wants quick, credible and comprehensive information on any ingredient found on personal care labels.  The site is brought to you by the researchers at the Environmental Working Group, which is already listed as a trusted and valuable site in our resources section.  Their mission and vision is very similar to that of what Evolving Wellness stands for and that is “to use the power of information to protect human health and the environment.”

Maybe “natural” Means “toxic” Today - The Clorox Green Works Update

As I told you in the previous article I wrote “Clorox Green Works…Not So Green for Your Health“, I had a few unanswered questions as to the safety of the product when it comes to our health.  After posting that article, I wrote to Clorox Customer Service Department and after an email from them, which told me nothing, and another one from me and finally another one from them here is where the situation stands.

Don’t hold your breath…it isn’t too encouraging where your health is concerned.  What it is, is eye opening as to how these companies can get away with what they say!

Ok so to remind you, in my first email I had 2 questions for Clorox regarding their Green Works cleaners, which were:

  1. Why are the ingredients not on the bottle? And what are the ingredients?
  1. Why is it labeled with a caution label as an irritant, if it is all natural from plant based ingredients?

Clorox Green Works…Not So Green For Your Health!

green-works.jpgI recently saw a Clorox Green Works commercial on the television and it really caught my attention as I noticed many times before that the natural product companies do not advertise on TV.  We always seem to be bombarded by the same giant companies’ commercials over and over again, but not the environmental, natural or healthy ones (for obvious reasons I guess related to funding).  But anyhow here it was, this Green Works commercial spewing all these beautiful things about the environment and your health and working as good as any other cleaner. 

At first I was pleasantly surprised to see this commercial on TV, and my first thought was finally natural products are being promoted.  Then came the end of the commercial and I found out that it was produced by the famous bleach company Clorox.  So next a twinge a suspicion came over me, but willing to give them the benefit of the doubt I figured they must see that the future lies in natural products and hence are coming around. Many products today still claim to be natural, but aren’t, so how can you tell the difference between the real and the fakes?
