I have just come accross a phenomenal video from TED.com that I am thrilled to share with you here on Evolving Wellness. This video features Mark Bittman, who is a famous author, journalist and television personality and whose main passion is food.
In this talk Mark explains to us “what’s wrong with what we eat“. It is a 20 minute video that is a must see for anyone who has ever considered their health, their impact on this planet, the modern day family and how the modern day government and economy work.
It is just so encouraging to see more and more people awakening to the current global situation where our health and the environment is concerned.
So without any further adieu, I will allow Mark Bittman to share with you these valuable thoughts for us and for today’s times.
Over the course of the week, we learned and reviewed how the UV index works, how our skin works and why it reacts to the sun, how the sun and sunscreens work, and why they have damaging effects on our bodies.
Today, in part 5 we summarize that information into a practical guide of two top 10 lists on how to maximize the benefits and minimize the risks, where the sun is concerned and how to enjoy the sun as safely as possible.
Yesterday, in part 3 - we learned and reviewed how the sun works and why it has a damaging effect on our body. Today we continue with part 4 where we will get to know all about sunscreens.
In this series we will be first exploring the basics of how sunscreen works and understand first the difference between a sunscreen and a sun block. We will then go on to find out what sunscreen is made of and what SPF means and how it works. Finally, we will examine the health risks related to using sunscreen based on the latest research and offer some healthier alternatives.
