@ JASON - Thank you so much for that comment. I felt that way too, that yes it is personal, but ultimately I want to keep moving in the direction of being transparent as I believe that we can all learn so much from each other's experiences, if of course we choose to share them.

It is such a joy to hear that you found inspiration in this article from me - thank you for that feedback and many blessings for your health journey!

Hey Evita, I appreciate you being so transparent about your results! Because although your results are your business, it is helpful for others, and your insights made it educational for sure. I am a distributor for the Nutrilite brand, and I am definitely trying to learn as much as I can about "optimal health" that way I can be a valuable resource for people. Your example of living a healthy life, and sharing your knowledge and experiences with others is an ispiration to me!

In Good Health,

@ AKEMI - LOL - you are so not fat....so don't you go putting those thoughts in your head :)

As for your blood pressure....you may know that lower is generally a good thing and no cause for concern. Too low is naturally no good, as it can cause dizzy spells, fainting and strain on the major organs.

Since you are a smaller build too, normally smaller people do have lower blood pressure too.

As long as you feel really good, you BP should not be a problem. You are after all very calm and well connected to the "other side" ;) But if there is something you are concerned about...definitely have it checked out.

@ MARTONY - Hi MarTony thank you for your comment as it is a very interesting one indeed.

I am 99% sure I am "0 negative" blood type also (based on what my mom told me). And I have had no problems without any animal products in my diet thus far (it has been 2 years vegan, over a year vegetarian).

I have heard about a book or several books that indicate "eating for your blood type" - personally I have not read them, and do not see the science they seem to base this on.

What I do know today is that the mind controls the body, not the blood or anything else. So the first thing I tell people too or ask them if they experience anything like you mentioned are the following questions:

1. What did you eat during those days (4 in your case)?
2. What was your mind set like about meat?
3. Did you think you were depriving your body of a vital nutrient?

I am someone who today has researched a lot and is exploring the new modalities of health and healing that are based on our thoughts, minds and energy patterns and believe these to be far more superior in their healing powers to anything really conventional. Meaning, we can just as easily heal ourselves (from anything) as we can make ourselves sick. Our thoughts dictate our emotions, and these together have a huge influence on our overall health.

Now I am not saying that you "intentionally" made yourself sick in those days without meat.... there is far more to it. What I am saying is that sometimes (often, in fact) we are not aware of what is going on in our subconscious mind.

Ultimately meat is not a vital food component or nutrient, and millions of people survive without it everyday around the world. So that alone makes me think that there had to been more as to why you felt as you did in those 4 days without meat. It would be interesting to explore that further.

For now as I mentioned I have not read any of the books in eating for one's blood type, because to me they scientifically at this point don't make sense. And if we take science out of it and go into mind over matter stuff, than they hold even less value. But that is not to say I would dismiss them completely. I like to always stay open minded, as that is the best platform from which to learn new things.

So do let me know if you have any other questions on this.

As for the vitamin D, if you feel you had a fair test, then hopefully that is right. I would recommend to ask for the exact number and compare it yourself to what is considered normal and nor normal, etc. these days.

Thanks again for your comment!

@ HANLIE - My pleasure Hanlie...a few months ago I would not have done this and just plastered all these results about me here, but I feel so good being transparent to my readers, and as well, it helps people too I feel know what to look for, etc, and learn from their own results.

Evita,

I've tried to go vegetarian once. It was more out of experimentation than a lifestyle change – as I've tried many other things where I used my body as a science lab. And, as I cut out all meats from my diet, within 4 days, I feinted and collapsed on the floor.

I visited my physician and he asked me weather I was an O Blood Type (I am O Negative). He told me that I cannot cut animal protein from my diet. Have you found any truths in this?

Your update on Vitamin D was really interesting. I live in a tropical region and last time I checked, my Vitamin D was above average. Maybe I should recheck this.

Thanks for the knowledge.

Hi Evita,

You are more than 2 inches taller than me, and weighs about the same. Gee, I feel FAT!

Your blood test result is interesting. Maybe I will take similar check up soon. My dentist checked my blood pressure recently and it was low (98/56).

@ PATRICIA - Thank you so much Patricia...even a few months ago, I may not have done this...but each day as I grow, and the thought really sinks into my head that we are all ONE - I don't mind being transparent.

And a big thank you to you for sharing your health experiences. I know it can be very frustrating when our health isn't what we expect it to be, especially if it stops us from enjoying life in any way.

I know sometimes people may feel at a disadvantage if they cannot eat dairy or eggs, but in my eyes, your body is actually taking the right approach by not accepting these items. It is tough because it seems they are in everything.... but with some effort one can find some substances that are free of all of this.

Interesting about the iron for you...

But so good for you Patricia, for being proactive and checking in with your health. Yay indeed to no more arthritis and to many more amazing days! And I know that the healing that you are receiving today will go a long, long way! You may just feel better at 70 than you did at 30 :) All is possible.

Oh Evita, you are so brave to share everything...and yet I would give my eye teeth to have someone to talk to about my results.

At 40, I started giving myself a full physical each decade and bone density test. I just had another for 60 (Definite problems with Blood Pressure and maintaining blood sugar levels)

I was a vegetarian from age 12 until my first pregnancy at age 30.

Exercise of walking, weight lifting, and swimming really has kept my muscles strong, my emotions healthy and my bones un-compromised.

All the chemo therapy and cancer treatments have been problematic for my body. I am healthier now than I have ever been in my 60 years.

I did a vegan diet for the summer and fall of this year, but had to add salmon and organic, free range chicken back into my routine to keep healthy...I cook the whole chicken into stock and make soup out of it...I can not eat eggs or dairy products rice or potatoes...

And my body makes "iron" kidney stones from all the fake iron in products these days????

I have no arthritis anywhere...Hip Hurray...

I have to take a supplement of Vitamin D..and mercury free fish oil...
Calcium/magnesium....these were hard to find because most are pressed into corn starch or milk byproducts...I can not absorb or use these things.

I just support your efforts and think you are so blessed to have so few health problems...I wish you continued good health and thank you for sharing and teaching this information.

@ PASTAQUEEN - Hi Jennette - yeah I went out on a whim with this one, but thought why not? This way, I hope to encourage others to take a closer look at their own health, and as I said, if we are proactive today, we can avoid a lot of the problems that may have come in the future.

The vitamin D is as I mentioned huge right now. For once it seems that traditional and alternative health authorities are agreeing on one thing - how important vitamin D is for us - and I don't doubt that.

But as I said, all of us should be able to get this vitamin from the sun, if we spend about 20 minutes in the sun daily, and that does not seem to be happening. So indeed it is a puzzler. I am starting to think that there must be something in the food, perhaps water, or something that is blocking this reaction from taking place naturally, since it is such a world-wide problem.

@ LANCE - Thanks Lance, you are right it wasn't that easy, but having done it, I actually feel good. It actually feels really good to be transparent.

To help your HDL cholesterol - 2 things can help:

1. Healthy fats like olive oil, nuts, avocados
(If cooking, try to use less of any oils like canola, vegetable, etc. Olive oil is great, but it actually should not be cooked with, but used raw - if cooking with it, only on low heat and in something quick like a stir-fry.)

2. Exercise (however I think you do do this on a regular basis, if I'm not mistaken?)

HDL is the protective cholesterol, so it definitely is great that you are monitoring your results.

And as for the vitamin D, yeah, this is huge now! Finally they have uncovered that one of the biggest things in common in people with various cancers and infections are low vitamin D levels. It has a huge link to breast cancer, colon cancer, and others....

And yes, metabolic syndrome is a recently "made-up" disease. Doctors had to, because they were finding so many people with a bunch of symptoms that actually made up a new disease, and it seems to be a huge problem indeed today in the population.

It is nice that you have someone like that to consult and talk to as well and thank you for sharing your thoughts here, and reading the exposed version of me ;)

Evita,
This is so great that you shared everything. Really, that's not easy to do - so kudos to you for sharing all that you did. It helps me to think about where I'm at, and what to think more about. One issue I know I have is consistently low HDL cholestorol Not alarmingly low, but definitely lower than the ideal range.

The whole concept of vitamin D and the high percentage of deficiencies is something I'm not familiar with. So, would love to hear more as you become more aware here, Evita.

We have a retired physician who comes into our office twice a month to just see how everyone is doing, and meet with people if they have questions about any medical concern. He only write prescriptions for things like smoking cessation - other things require a visit to your regular doctor. What is also really neat about this is that he puts on informational sessions every once in a while - just to keep people informed in making healthy choices. The one I really thought was well done was on metabolic syndrome - and really how this is really a big thing. It really got me thinking about health a bunch more when he presented this a few years back.

One issue I know I have is consistently low HDL cholestorol Not alarmingly low, but definitely lower than the ideal range.

The whole concept of vitamin D and the high percentage of deficiencies is something I’m not familiar with. So, would love to hear more as you become more aware here, Evita.

We have a retired physician who comes into our office twice a month to just see how everyone is doing, and meet with people if they have questions about any medical concern. He only write prescriptions for things like smoking cessation – other things require a visit to your regular doctor. What is also really neat about this is that he puts on informational sessions every once in a while – just to keep people informed in making healthy choices. The one I really thought was well done was on metabolic syndrome – and really how this is really a big thing. It really got me thinking about health a bunch more when he presented this a few years back.
