Hi Sharon

I sympathize with you and wholeheartedly relate. It can be so frustrating to see the ignorance so many choose to go through life with when it comes to not only animal welfare, but even just when it comes to their own health......not to mention a whole slew of other issues.

However, my inspiration and guiding light has been and is to this day to "be the change we wish to see". It may seem daunting and hopeless when the majority is going in the opposite direction, but every single person's actions make a difference. In the end, it is not about others, or even the animals, but about you Sharon and your personal evolution. Each action, each act, word and deed defines us, and every time you make a compassionate choice, you are declaring yourself as a compassionate being.

I am not sure if you ever heard of the starfish story....and how there was a man throwing in one stranded starfish back into the ocean, along a beach coast where there were thousands of them. Another man walked up watching him and he said how can you possibly think you are making a difference when there are so many, and the young man picked up the next starfish, looked at it and said to the other: "I made a difference to this one"

And so too we, every time we choose not to eat animal products, we decrease the demand for animal products, helping more animals....and the best part is that we are not alone, so many more people are joining in today Sharon and awakening to a deep compassion where eating any animal products is not even an option. As each one of us chooses this new way, we are driving change, we are being the change we wish to see and we are changing the market to reflect less reliance on animal products, less therefore needing to be raised and slaughtered. Every bit always, no matter how small helps and we add onto our personal evolution of becoming better, more conscious, loving and compassionate beings.

Wishing you all the best on your personal journey!

I became aware of this documentary a couple of years ago - this came about through my interest in banning the slaughter of horses for human consumption. I purchased the Earthlings DVD and watched it, horrified. As with my devotion to banning horse slaughter, I am completely and utterly frustrated and discouraged by the fact that people (including friends and relatives) just do not want to know what is going on. This leaves me feeling absolutely without hope of changing anything. It's not enough for me to just change my own lifestyle. I honestly do not know how to deal with the unsurmountable.

Hi Ferico

Thank you very much and I whole heartedly agree.... wouldn't it be something if even 10% of the North American population watched this.... miraculous deeds in action and millions of animal lives spared, not to mention human health improved :)

Hi there,

I can totally understand your reaction, as it is not an easy movie to watch, especially at certain parts. This is why I prepare people to really know that it is a shocking movie, but this is a true case scenario. People eat meat everyday, people use products each day that are there only because animals have been seriously exploited. So what are we to do?
Avoid it, or ignore it and pretend it does not exist?

This is why I challenge anyone who loves to eat meat, wear leather, etc... to watch it and find out the truth of how their so called beloved and "tasty" products are getting to them...what price they had to pay....how they were treated, etc.

We have been living in denial for long enough, so I understand that it is an emotional movie, but it is the truth. So many people go and see horrific Hollywood movies of people getting chopped up and blood pouring out and we seem to be okay with that, but when it comes down to the truth about how we treat our animals in society behind closed doors, that seems to sting a little too much, and be a bit too unbearable.

I agree with you wholeheartedly, there were parts, I had to turn around, but only because I already knew what these animals go through, and did not want to build up any anger towards our society of what they allow happen each day. But because of finding out info like this, I have also changed my ways. Today I am part of the solution, not continuing to contribute to the problem. See when something stirs your emotions like this, it is a sign within you that something knows that this isn't right. Our inner being is screaming for change, but some of us are too uncomfortable with that change, and so we avoid material like this and try to pretend it does not exist.

The good news is that each and every day today, more and more people are becoming more conscious and aware of all their actions and how they impact the animals and the environment, not to mention other human beings. We are waking up. We are changing. And that is the best ending that can be added onto this movie and any like it to come. Our barbaric ways are coming to an end.

@ HANLIE - Hmmm... I wonder what can be done. Perhaps Hanlie you can contact them and explain that you would like to promote it as well.

I would literally send you my copy, but I want to hold onto it, as I am hoping to perhaps, somehow feature some screenings of this for groups in the near future. We'll see what works out.

Anyhow, thank you for the feedback!

I wish I could get my hands on a copy of this movie. Watching it online is not an option for me, as our connection is not up to it... Hopefully I can find it here.

Thanks for the great review, Evita!
