Month in Review: June ’09

Calendar-June09June is over and with it we welcome the wonderful summer season. For many people around the world, June marks the end of the school year, and so teachers and students alike are about to start their summer vacation.

This is perhaps the best time to put some time and focus into one’s exercise and eating habits, as we no longer have the excuse of “not enough time”.

This month I did not get a chance to write a lot, but I did manage to read 4 books! Yes, I know, I even surprised myself.

Hence, added to the reviews section was “Thanking the Monkey – Rethinking The Way We Treat Animals” and “Skinny Bitch“. The third book ”Slow Death By Rubber Duck“ will be featured here in the next few days, and the fourth book “Tribes” will be featured on EvolvingBeings.com in the next few days.

In the middle of the month, I featured the article “Something is Fishy About The Swine Flu Pandemic“, which generated a lot of hype and feedback from many of you. Thank you for all your constructive comments and feedback, they are always very much appreciated.

This month I also had to chance to watch and introduce all of you to the revolutionary new documentary “Simply Raw – Reversing Diabetes in 30 Days.”

June also featured a new cleaning product line review, that I was thrilled to share with you, “Greener Choice” – because they have products that excel in labeling and being transparent to the consumer in terms of both health and the environment.

This month, two new recipes joined our site: “The Everything Summer Salad” and “Spicy Rice Paper Sprout Wraps“.

Once again I want to extend a huge thank you to Terie, a.k.a. Spin Diva for sharing her inspirational and motivating story with us this past month. If you have not had a chance to check it out yet, I highly recommend it as it can help many moms and families out there get back into shape and health – A Family Journey Into Shape And Wellness.

And stay tuned to see who will be featured tomorrow in our “Evolving Wellness in Action” series for July.

June was Recreation and Parks month in Canada, and July is National Parks and Recreation Month in the United States. And with summer here, we will focus on some healthy and fun things to do with the whole family.

Till then take care and remember conscious eating and thinking is the only way we can infuse accountability into our actions!
