Hi Mary

Thank you for your comment and feedback about the book.

To answer your question, in the truest sense of health, no there isn't. White wine is really mainly about sugar (that is normally why it is preferred), and does not contain the resveratrol benefits that red wine does. To add to that, both wines can raise acidity levels if consumed on too regular of a basis.

My advice would be to adopt new ways of looking at the alocohol, as you make other health changes in your life. It is dense in calories which we have to consider at the end of the day, especially when dealing with weight management. It does take a toll on the liver, which is also extra stressed under excess weight. And really, it is not necessary for us. I know in our society it is the "drink" of choice for dinners and celebrations, but we can undo any and every habit and step away from what the masses are doing, as we are seeing today that they have not lead us in a good direction.

So perhaps have it less and less frequently, until you find that you don't need it at all. Once you get to that point, and adopt many other healthy habits, you can then go back to knowing that you can have the odd (and I stress odd) glass without feeling guilty, etc. as your body is renewed and can handle the perhaps small, but real costs that come with it.

All the best with your health and wellness journey :)

@ DENISE - Hello Denise and thank you for sharing your thoughts about the book with us. Indeed some of us are going to be moved more deeply by this book than others. I think it depends too on how seriously we take our health, environment and the world in general and where our priorities lie.

It is a funny, but serious book, so I am not surprised by your comment. If I had not already been a vegan, this book would have motivated me to do the same.

All the best on your new path! For the best health results, remember to have a diet that is as natural as possible with lots of fruits, vegetables, grains, beans, nuts and seeds and the occasional soy products - to your health :)

I got this book yesterday after reading some reviews about it. I read the first couple of chapters last night and really enjoyed it! I have been a vegetarian for about a month and a half now and I am so ready to go vegan! I don't think I will ever be able to eat an animal again!

@ HANLIE - I think you would Hanlie! It is really funny, to the point and very real about both the food we put inside of ourselves and the governing institutions of that food...
