Something Is Fishy About The Swine Flu Pandemic

On June 11, 2009, the World Health Organization announced that they are moving up the current status of the Swine Flu to level 6 – the highest level possible, which indicates a world pandemic.

When I heard the news I have to tell you I was more than shocked. I was floored! What was the basis for such a decision? Where and how did this come about?

Despite the fact that I stay away from the mainstream news media, simply because just as I do not like my food processed, I do not want my information processed, I felt compelled to read a few news stories regarding this, to see what they were telling the public.

I could not figure out, how just over 27, 000 cases of this disease could warrant a full blown pandemic? The pieces just did not fit together. However, as I dug deeper and thought more about this, the picture began to take on an eerie clarity.

Who, What, When and Why?

If you are unaware of where things stand at this point where the swine flu is concerned, then you are not alone. The media has since the main outbreak, become oddly silent about the whole issue. Perhaps people got bored of it or perhaps there was more interesting news to report on. Either way, the WHO’s decision to make this a level 6 pandemic came as a surprise to many people. However, some experts have said that this was inevitable and they had been expecting it even earlier.

The CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) have stated that:

“WHO’s decision to raise the pandemic alert level to Phase 6 is a reflection of the spread of the virus, not the severity of illness caused by the virus.”

So although around 27,000 cases is not that big of a deal where a pandemic is concerned, the fact that it has spread to over 70 countries seems to be.

This is indeed a new virus and there is controversy how it started and came about in the first place, but I will not be covering those controversies here. What is fact is that despite its novelty, most people are affected by it just as they would be by any other flu and very few cases are severe or have ended in death.

The justification for this decision seems to come again from that fact that it has spread to so many countries. This is obviously due to the wide range of international travel that we have today. The second reasoning from many health organizations is that they are concerned how serious it will be next fall, when flu season is typical in the Northern Hemisphere. Right now perhaps most are lucky as, cold and flu viruses are not widespread during the warm months.

So, so far the majority of the world is not affected. While we wish that no one was affected, 27,000 out of nearly 7 billion people is nothing to start panicking about. In Canada for example, only 12 people have died – and almost always, people who die from any flu have other underlying health issues. So, we as individuals should not take this decision out of context. Also we have to keep in mind, that moving to pandemic level 6, does not mean we will see an increase in the number of deaths or very severe cases.

The medical buildings and hospitals, have stepped up their protocols, especially where sanitation procedures are concerned. There is more stress and work expectations infiltrating those areas, and hence their work and environment at this time is far from pleasant.

The governments will be scrambling no matter what, because any increase in disease cases means more money lost to health care – at least in Canada and other countries that cover basic health care.

But there is one more big piece of the puzzle here – the drug companies.

On the day that the WHO announced that the swine flu is now considered a pandemic, I had the chance of reading several news articles on this subject and almost all of them had 1 big thing in common – the talk about vaccines.

On the first day that the WHO declared this pandemic, numerous articles were citing that aggressive action will be taken to get a swine flu vaccine out to the public. The CDC states:

Vaccines are a very important part of a response to pandemic influenza and the U.S. Government is aggressively taking early steps in the process to manufacture a novel H1N1 vaccine, working closely with manufacturers.”

The drug companies have already been contacted and are as we speak working on a new vaccine for the H1N1 flu virus. Although it may take 4-6 months to fully prepare, under these circumstances it will be a rushed process nonetheless, as medical personnel want the vaccine ready before this fall’s flu season.

So What’s The Problem?

The problems with all this are as follows:

1. Although the WHO has rules in place for what constitutes a pandemic and what doesn’t – this new virus would never have reached the depths it did, if it were not for international travel. It is still a mild virus and affecting a tiny percentage. According to the WHO, regular flu is estimated to kill 250,000 to 500,000 people each year. This one does not even come close. Most people up to now have required very little if any hospitalization and recover normally within days. Hence at this time there is more fear-mongering going on than anything else.

2. The economy is down and I am sorry, but drug companies are always looking to make extra money. Perhaps this is just a wild assumption on my part, but I smell a drug company affiliation in this decision big time. If this vaccine gets developed, a nation wide vaccination program will be put in place. Do you realize how much money that is for the drug companies?

3. The company chosen to develop this vaccine is none other than the US based company Baxter. Baxter has been recently involved in a bird flu scandal, where vaccines where tainted with the deadly bird flu virus. As Laurie Garrett states in an article entitled “The Next Pandemic?“, ”Unlike chemical compounds, vaccines and most other biological products are difficult to make and can easily become contaminated.”

4. Seasonal flu vaccines often are the cause of the flu for many people. Now translate that to this case scenario. Can you imagine you are a healthy person with no risk for any flu, you go get vaccinated and walk away with the swine flu?

5. Because there is a scare underway at this point, due to the fact that the swine flu has been labelled a “pandemic”, the making of this vaccine will be rushed. Good luck with proper trials and testing of this one. Errors and contaminations are inevitable. As wjz.com states in an article on the swine flu pandemic ”The declaration of a pandemic does, however, push drugmakers to fast-track production of a swine flu vaccine.”

6. In 1976 there was a swine flu scare in the United States which prompted a mass immunization. “On March 24, 1976 President Gerald Ford announced on television that he was asking Congress for $135 million “to inoculate every man, woman and child in the United States” against swine flu.” This lead to more than 500 people developing  Guillain-Barre syndrome, a paralyzing neuromuscular disorder, after receiving the vaccine and 25 died. The vaccine killed more people than the flu in that time. We would hope history does not repeat itself again.

7. If the government and other agencies cared as much as they say they do, they would immediately put an educational program in place to tell people how to boost their immune system. Here is an idea: simply by stopping drinking alcohol, smoking cigarettes, starting to exercise and stopping eating garbage food, we immensely increase our immunity. But for many people that is somehow not an option. They prefer the risky vaccine instead. Go figure… If you are serious about your health and improving your immunity, read the article I wrote “10 Ways to Protect Yourself Against the Swine Flu.”

Conclusion

Ultimately, education is the key. There is no doubt in my mind that there is so much more to this story from start to end than meets the eye. If we think that we know what is going on behind closed doors, then we are greatly naive.

No matter what, for me personally, even if I was afraid of the swine flu or any other infectious disease of the same caliber, which I am not, I would do everything I can to clean up my body and boost my natural lines of defence – mainly the immune system.

We as humans have been made to feel that our bodies are less than adequate at protecting us and that we need some “chemical substance” which will save us or heal us. That cannot be further from the truth. Our bodies are strong and well equipped to protect us from EVERYTHING, if we only give them the right support.

The reason I am not afraid of the swine flu and would never dream of getting this or any other similar vaccine, is because I know that everything that I am doing in my life, from food and thoughts to the type of personal products I use and exercise, supports my body instead of giving it more work and stress, so that it is unable to defend itself properly.

And hence should it come to a mass vaccination, I just hope that you do your research before, instead of blindly putting your faith and trust in institutions that have much more at stake than your health.

Great article! I agree with you 100%. When the first panicky media reports came out, I thought “somebody is going to make a lot of money out of this”.

  2. Evita says:

@ HANLIE – Thank you Hanlie and yes indeed! I think they already are. My hope is simply to get this message out there to as many people as possible so they know that there is an option to not have to undergo the vaccination and simply to learn more about how the flu and our immune system works. The truth is more people are likely to have bigger problems from vaccines than the flu itself.

  3. Evita says:

My dear readers, I have just recieved a comment, which I will not be publishing as it is a profane and highly misinformed negative attack. So while I appreciate comments of feedback or constructive criticism, I will not tolerate ignorant, misinformed or any other kind of attacks.

In the comment the reader assumes that I rely on drugs and pharmaceutical companies at this point in my life or will should I get cancer, etc.

While I had no control over matters of nutrition and drugs, as a child, I do as an adult and have learned enough in my years of education from prominent institutions, and my work and research experience that I would never subject myself to traditional cancer treatments or similar poisons.

I am not sure why people feel so threatened in the areas of natural health and feel the need to defend the huge money and life sucking corportations at the price of putting down people who are trying to educate and show others that there exsits a better way, but that is their experience not mine.

You want to take drugs and get vaccinated, then go right ahead, no one is stopping you – but allow the others of us who do not choose that to have our experience too.

Perhaps it is because so many people have been so brainwashed by the media that they lost sight or really don’t know what a proper diet and lifestyle does in terms of health – but that can easily be fixed by being open and a little education. I personally know enough for me that proper nutrition that supports a body is all one needs to stay healthy from ALL things. So I know that my chances of getting things like the flu or cancer, are as likely as some 1 in a million chance of some mutation. But should I do get either, I thank the drug companies very much, but decline their services – I know enough to know where to seek natural healing and not make my body worse.

And just so we are clear, although I do not support the stance that many drug companies take where profits take precedence over people’s lives, I am not some anti-drug company nazi, as I am open minded enough to know that there are times where emergencies exist and the work of conventional medicine can be useful. The problem is simply that in our medical and health fields today we have lost the balance.

  4. Alban Fenle says:

The truth, Evita, is still that our health is not a matter of nutrition, or even life style. Sickness is a decision of the mind, nothing else. What is in question is always this: For what do we use the body? Use it for communication and the purpose you share with the Holy Spirit, it will be perfectly healthy. Use it on behalf of separation, then there is nothing that can make it healthy until you change your mind about its purpose. It is only what we believe about ourselves. We are not bodies. We are free and still as God created us. That is what everyone is really afraid of.
    God bless us all.

  5. Evita says:

@ ALBAN FENLE – Alaban thank you so much for that – it is so beautifully, wisely and eloquently said!

While I promote this exact thought process on EvolvingBeings.com, sometimes I prevent myself from going that far on here on EvolvingWellness.com I guess it is because I figure it is easier to help people change their eating habits rather than thought habits, to at least get some benefits. But of course this is not true for everyone.

Disease is a state of the mind, and how we carry ourselves, how we connect or disconnect to the spirit is indeed. So while I practice good nutrition and promote that here, I for not one second forget the strong tie that all diseases have to the state of our minds and hearts.

    Thank you again Alban :)

  6. Amanda says:

Great points and tips here… I think that once people know how to properly take care of themselves…good diet, proper supplements, etc…. they will not get pulled into the fear and the anxiety of a ‘pandemic’. I loved Mercolas perspective of how we are defecient in Vit D during the winter and that is why so many more of us are more likely to get ill during winter months. Information is the BEST line of defense here! I tell everyone I know, dont EVER get a flu shot! And I will tell everyone I know, don’t ever get a Swine Flu shot… !!

    Many blessings-
    Amanda

  7. David says:

A great and thoughtful post. I’m sorry someone was rude to you. Often people with anger management problems do not stop and realize they are exposing an ugly side of themselves in public when they lose their patience.

Would they get up at five am when they are sick, sit on the side of the bed and let a photographer take their portrait in some old underwear? Then post on the internet for all to see?

Probably not. But they do not hesitate to show themselves in other circumstances.

I hope that the swine flu doesn’t become a permanent part of flu season. That’s a scary thought. So I will continue to evaluate all sources of prevention and healing in my life while trying to do the right thing.

And at the top of the list will be daily conversations with God. The path is easier to discover with a Guide.

  8. Evita says:

@ AMANDA – Hi Amanda and thank you kindly for your thoughts and feedback. I think you hit it right on the head when you say “information is the best line of defense”. I definitely second that!

And that is why I always encourage readers to consider all sides of every story. There is so much that we are told out of fear and in half truths that it is no surprise that we have a health crisis in most of the developed world where chronic health is concerned, nevermind infectious diseases.

Education and information definitely is the key, for only then can we really decide what is best for us!

    Thanks for sharing :)

@ DAVID – Hi David and thank you for sharing your thoughts here too :)

It is too bad that some people act quickly, perhaps too quickly in some cases, not really considering how their words or actions impact others, or even themselves, but that is part of life and something we all have to overcome at one point or another.

Anyhow, indeed one’s faith and proper care is key here. If this does become part of the regular flu season, it really does not need to turn into a scary thing. We can overcome anything and everything with our mind and especially with the proper physical support for our body.

We were made as amazing beings, not weak creatures that fall prey to any and every disease, etc. Some of us have forgotten that and hence may we stir back that birthright that is within all of us, that our bodies are capable of perfect health – no matter what.

  9. PL Chang says:

I agree with you about how the drug industry is always trying to make money off of people. One of their best tool is fear. By putting fear into people, they can control them easier.

I believe the best tool for fighting the flu is the immune system. When your immune system is operating at peak, it can even fight off cancer. Many people don’t realize that when they get vaccinated, it is the immune system that is doing most of the work, not the vaccine.

  10. Pat Watson says:

Thank you for your informative and cautionary article. I wish this had been out when the 1976-77 Swine Flu “epidemic” hit the U.S. I was teaching in a country school when this happened. Just by being out in the “nowheres” the chance of exposure was nil. I had not planned to get a vaccination, but the school district sent a Dr. out to give all teachers a shot. I was the only hold out and I wish to heavens I had stuck with my stubborn stance. I finally gave in to peer pressure, got the stupid shot and became very ill. It knocked my entire immune system out and I was paralyzed with severely swollen glands for a few days. I was one of the healthiest people around before that shot.

I didn’t find out about the “side effect” knowledge until many years later. By then I’d developed fibromyalgia, no end of digestive disorders, sjogren’s syndrome and on and on. Since I was so healthy before the vaccination, I realized it was behind all my new health issues. I’ve worked hard to turn things around with my diet and healthy way of living, but that shot took its toll for decades and is still an issue for me 30-some years later! I’m pretty certain I’d have an entire different story if I hadn’t gotten vaccinated! So do beware!

  11. Evita says:

PL CHANG – You hit on an excellent point, it always does come down to the immune system, even when getting vaccinated.

This is where I believe lies the secret why some people get sick from the vaccine and some don’t. In some ways, probably the people who are most vulnerable to getting the flu may also be the ones who will be most vulnerable to getting sick from the vaccine and their system is overwhelmed as it is.

Thank you so much for your valuable addition and feedback!

@ PAT WATSON – Pat I want to start by saying a HUGE thank you for sharing your story. People like you are real, and more common than people realize, in terms of suffering unnecesary damage from vaccines.

It is too bad indeed that this info was not out before. That is why I feel we are so blessed to live today in a time where we at least have a choice, a choice to get educated on what we are putting in or on our bodies (in most countries that is).

No one should be forced to put anything like that into their system. Like I always say, just give the people the choice to choose for themselves, and for those of us who are really lucky, we will simply consult our intuition and know right away if something is right or wrong for us.

Thank you so much again for sharing your story, I know you will touch the lives of many readers and perhaps save them from a similar fate!

  12. Anonymous says:

I read that the US gov’t is giving immunity to the company making the swine flu vaccine (Baxter apparently). So they won’t even have to worry too much about making it safe since the public will have no recourse even if thousands die from the vaccine.

Obama – change you can believe in! lol.
Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

  13. PL Chang says:

Yes, I heard about the US gov’t giving immunity to the company Baxter. Baxter is being sued by Jane Burgermeister, an Austrian journalist, because she found out that Baxter deliberately contaminated certain vaccine with the bird flu virus. If the US gov’t give immunity to Baxter, Jane’s action may be useless.

The swine flu vaccine should be available by fall. I advised everyone to do their research before taking this flu shot. Most, if not all vaccine contains harmful chemicals and heavy metals. For alternatives, you may want to do research on vitamin D3, nano-silver and colloidal silver. If you want to know the secrets of the vaccine industry, visit the video link below.

  14. Evita says:

@ PL CHANG – Thank you so much for including that video, it sounds interesting and I am going over now to watch it!

But in general there are some “interesting” to say the least things going on with this whole swine flu vaccine. I am just glad that here in Canada so far they are talking about making this voluntary to whoever wants it, although I am sure at medical places or schools it may become mandatory. We’ll see.

You left people with some good advice too on what to research and look into – thank you, this is all very helpful, for the more we learn, the better we are at making a wise decision that we will not come to regret in the future.

  15. Alex says:

While I think you’re on to something in terms of inflated scare levels, there are a few incorrect facts here. Guillain-Barre syndrome is an extremely rare risk of many vaccines, with an incidence of less than one per million. Flu shots save lives, even with their risks. Keep in mind that for most of us, flue (swine or normal) is a mild inconvenience that we can indeed beat (or prevent) by being healthy. For immunocompromised persons, this is not the case.

Personally I’d point my finger at the MSM for making a mountain out of a molehill. The health authorities are scared of swine flu not because it’s remotely dangerous (as you point out, less so than seasonal flu), but because no one has preexisting immunity (of a targeted form). Should the swine flu cross with other types of flue, an extremely deadly hybrid could potentially develop. This is not an urgent concern, though it is a serious one. But a swine flu vaccine won’t help there.

    It’s a government response to media-spread panic.

There are vaccines which are more dangerous than the conditions they prevent (essentially how likely you are to suffer severe damage and how likely you are to get it). This is why we don’t immunize Americans against anthrax in general — far more would die of the vaccine.

I should also add that it is not possible to contract influenza from a flu vaccine because flu vaccines do not contain viable organisms. The flu-like symptoms experienced by some people are caused by the immune response to the vaccine — when it’s working as intended.

Anyway, we have a lot of vaccines we don’t use precisely because they don’t make numerical sense. Just like any drug or medical treatment (or lack thereof), getting a vaccine is a risk. But it’s usually less of one than the disease itself.

Don’t believe everything you read online, those who push unnecessary medicine on us are only one of the many agendas out there.

  16. Evita Ochel says:

@ ALEX – Thank you for including your thoughts and feedback.

Where the vaccines are concerned, I think it is a bit of a touchy area depending on the research or beliefs or perspectives one has chosen to adopt about them. I personally am not for vaccines any longer, not even so much for what they contain, as to what I have learned about the human body in terms of its own healing powers.

Yes as a child and youth I got vaccines. Would I be giving them to my children – no. I publicly state that not to influence others, but because each one of us has to find our own truth that we are comfortable with and hopefully live with it, not just adopt the truths of others.

And I definitely agree with you, it all goes back to the mainstream media, as I pointed out as well, but somethings gotta give here. Perhaps the governments are not “scientifically” inclined to know better, but doctors and researchers should. Someone should be clearing these facts and instead we have the masses in a panic over this for the most part, and for many of the wrong reasons.

Ultimately, my view points are from a natural health perspective – so they may not jive with all people, I understand that. Especially that the majority is influenced by regular doctors, who are in turn influenced by the drug companies.

I do have one item though that I cannot agree with you on and that is that people don’t get sick from getting the flu shot. Vaccines don’t always contain “dead” organisms. In fact most of the time, they are “weakened” organisms which very much can cause a disease depending on the strength of the person’s immune system.

So definitely, the information out there has to be looked at critically and with almost a fine toothed comb to really extract any substance from it – thanks again for your thoughts.

    Hi Evita
I found your article while doing a Google search. Believe it .. I started my search using the search phrase: “there is something fishy in the topic of Swine flu”, then I came to you.
Being a Radiologist, the issues of infectious disease is somehow far from my experience, however, the basics of Medicine, the commom sense of health and the experiences from previous epidemics all tell us that there is something … fishy.
As you pointed, in the last few decades it was so prominent that great catastrophes allover the world have different meaning to some others. Notice these couples: Wars and Weapon companies, Wars and Construction companies, Epidemics and drug companies … and so many others.
Thanks Evita, your article has helped me a lot … I will not take the vaccine

    • Evita Ochel says:

DR.HESHAM – Well isn’t that something how you found me… we must have been on the same thought wave in how we see this situation indeed.

You know, whether it is the swine flu, regular flu or even some other disease, I just think it is too bad and frankly sad, that the people who should really be looking out for us and focusing on real prevention through diet and exercise, just aren’t.

We are pushed pills, vaccines and surgeries left, right and center, but what about the quality prevention before we even need any of these?

Anyhow, I am so glad you stopped by and found this article informative. I really feel blessed that I can just help people out there expand their perspective on important topics, especially when it comes to health.
