Month in Review: May ’09

May 2009 Calendar

Today we say farewell to May and do a quick update of the highlights of the month, here on EvolvingWellness.com!

May was Stroke and Multiple Sclerosis awareness month and as well it is known in the United States as National Physical Fitness and Sports month.

As cardiovascular disease is the number one killer in developed countries, for more information about strokes, check out the following articles:

A Quick Guide to Understanding Strokes

10 Guidelines to Prevent a Stroke Naturally

We began the month with a dear topic to all of our hearts and that being about the future of natural health.

I also wrote about “10 Ways to Protect Yourself Against the Swine Flu.

In the middle of the month, we had guest author, Dr. Greg Tefft write an article about his personalized nutrition program that helps people attain optimal levels of nutrients for their personal needs of optimal health.

At the end of the month, we finished things off by “Going Behind the Scenes of the Food We Are Told To Eat By the News Media.”

This month 1 new product review joined our site and that was the fantastic Giovanni Root 66 Max Volume Shampoo.

We had no new recipes added this month, but that just means that we will make up next month with some delicious and healthy meal ideas, especially for the summer months!

There were no “Evolving Wellness in Action” inspirational stories of change and growth where one’s health, fitness and diet habits are concerned submitted last month. However, we are always looking to share and grow together as we continue to move in the never ending direction of optimizing our food and fitness habits. Hence don’t be shy and if you yourself or someone you know is making positive changes where their food and fitness habits are concerned contact me here.

As for June, it is going to be a big month for me personally, as it is my last month in my career as a secondary school science teacher. I am leaving this profession which I do love, to pursue my greater love and passion of writing and speaking to teach many more people of all ages about natural health, nutrition and successful, balanced living.

What else is in store for June? Here in Canada, June is Brain Injury awareness month, as well as Recreation and Parks Month.

Till then – Live Long! Live Healthy! Live Happy!

  2. Julie says:

Many congratulations and best wishes to you, dear Evita, in your fantastic new career! Your passion will lead you to wonderful adventures! :)

  3. Evita says:

@ HANLIE – Thank you so much Hanlie! Your encouragment and support means a lot :)

I am not sure yet though if I will be calling it “my career”, and definitely not job. For starters there is no employer and secondly, when one loves what they do, the last thing it is, is work or a job ;)

So I am not sure what I will call it…perhaps when someone asks what do you do for a living, I will answer “My activity is…” LOL :) Just kidding – but no matter what it is, it definitely is a dream come true!

@ JULIE – Many thanks to you too Julie! And likewise I really, really appreciate the encouragement and support!

I do live by the line that when one follows their passions, the Universe opens doors, where before there were only walls, from Joseph Campbell – so indeed this is a very exciting time!
