Hi Josh

Thank you for the feedback!

When I hear that people cannot wake up in the morning, a few things have to be considered.... namely what time are we going to sleep at? If it is anything past 10pm, it can pose problems. Are we sleeping regularly with a routine or all over the place? Routines put the body on a more regular rhythmic clock.

When it comes to the winter, a lot of people are affected by the lack of sunlight and vitamin D. Are you taking a vitamin D supplement of at least 5,000IU? Lack of this hormone may play a role in disrupting so many other hormones in your body.

What is your diet like? Is is based on fast, processed foods, white grains, sugars, coffee or any other stimulants? All of this will play a role in how our body copes from day to day and hour to hour.

Hi Evita, A really great series of posts you wrote here...
My biggest problem is that I can't make my self wake up in the morning!
I have like 2 alarm clocks working for an hour and I don't even hear them!
It became really frustrating! I can't even wake up to work by myself, actually it's the winter that kills me :)

Hi Tom,

I am thrilled to hear that you are enjoying this series. I love sleep and have really paid attention to its importance since my teens (which is not typical for most young people I know) but I guess I was always drawn to how great I felt each morning when I woke up and to this day have pretty much kept a regular and routine sleep schedule and no coffee ever. Sure there were some nights that I stayed out much later than I would ever want to do now, but that is all part of life and fun too. The key is to make sure that really late nights are the exceptions and not the norm.

And yeah, sleep before midnight is really important. One of my biggest motivators for this series in fact is hearing many people around me talk about how little sleep they get, or how they can't sleep or how irregular it is. All things that can really deter good health and wellness. So I want to spread the word and really help people to understand just how important sleep is and what a difference proper sleep makes in one's quality of life :)

Thank you again for your feedback - I really appreciate it!
