What is SALBA? Or do you mean CHIA?

salbaOkay so for all those of you who have not yet heard, SALBA is nature’s little secret.

It is a nutritional gold mine for anyone who is interested in obtaining their vitamins, minerals and nutrients naturally - that means through healthy eating, not through a multivitamin!

SALBA is a South American grain or super seed. It has been used by Aztec civilizations and its roots date back to 3500B.C.  It comes from the mint family called CHIA. It has just recently, in the past 2 decades been tested medically and found to have outstanding properties and values of vital nutrients we need each day.  Although SALBA comes from CHIA it is not the exact same substance, as SALBA has more nutritional value than CHIA.

The nutritional benefits of SALBA, in a gram to gram analysis are as follows:

  • 50% of folate (folic acid) of asparagus
  • Has the perfect balance of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids found in nature
  • 15 times more magnesium than broccoli
  • 8 times more omega-3 fatty acids than salmon (highest in nature)
  • 6 times more calcium than milk
  • 3 times more iron than spinach
  • 3 times more antioxidant strength of blueberries
  • 2.5 times more vegetable protein than kidney beans
  • 2 times more potassium than a banana
  • 1.1 times more fiber than All Bran (highest in nature)

SALBA is also all-natural, has no trans-fats, is gluten free, has almost no carbohydrates, and is certified Non-GMO!

Wow - is that not outstanding? Imagine in a single serving you are obtaining all those benefits!

SALBA is also very easy to use and requires no cooking, you can easily sprinkle the seeds on your favorite cereal, salad or meal and enjoy!

Check out the SALBA home page for more information on this nutritional powerhouse and locations where you can buy it!

Wow! This little guy packs quite a punch! Thanks for directing me here, Evita.

Now, my quest is to actually find some Salba. First stop, Whole Foods. Figure if anyone is likely to have some, it would be them.
