@ PETE - Hello Pete, thanks for the questions.

In terms of this list, the list that is presented here is the list that was up to date from SkinDeep as of last July 2008. They are currently preparing a 2009 version which I will be using when they have it ready.

If you look at the Skin Deep list I have and their current list, it varies somewhat, as they continually update their list because companies change or make new products, as well they may carry out more tests which may make the results more up to date, so that is why the difference exists between this article and Skin Deep's current list.

However, as to your second question, that is a good one indeed about the Neutrogena. If you download the 2008 version of the EWG sheet, indeed Neutrogena is listed in the top 10, but only I presume that kind they feel okay with, as if you read below in the avoid section on the same sheet, they mention to avoid Neutrogena.

So there seems to be some discrepancy on their part. And why the Skin Deep list is so different from the EWG list, when technically they are the same parent company is beyond me. I can speculate that they tested them on a different basis, but that doesn't make sense. My best answer to you to get the right answer is to email them and ask why the discrepancy exists between what they are telling people, as indeed it is a little dissappointing from a company who I trust to look out for our best interest, but my gut instinct tells me there must be some good explanation.

I will let you know here too, if I find out anything else myself from them.

Thanks again for the good eye - we need perceptive people like you today where our health and wellness is concerned :)

A little confused, how come the printable EWG's list is so different from the Skin Deep list.
Also you say that Neutregena one of worst offenders, but is included in EWG's as a shoppers guide goodie????
